Anbuvanam

In His book Arul-Nool, Ayya Vaikuntar insists on performing dharma around Muthirikinaru, the common sacred well He dug. Anbuvanam has been instituted to fulfill this.

Anbuvanam was founded by Balaprajapathi Adikalar at Swamithoppu based on Ayya's instructions. Anbuvanam is located near the Muthirikinaru on the same holy land where Ayya Vaikuntar ploughed and cultivated. It has an orphanage, homes for the elderly, feeding house and a gurukulam. He also publishes a monthly magazine 'Anbu-Murasu'.

Orphanage

The orphanage of Anbuvanam provides free homes, food, clothing and all the necessary supports for poor children. Srimathi Ramani Bai, wife of Balaprajapathi Adikalar treats all these children as her own. There are appointed teachers to teach the children in the gurukulam style. The children also maintain the cattle, gardens and perform their routine works on the land.

Home for the elderly

Anbuvanam has several homes caring for old people who need help. There are many elderly who stay at this facility. They also maintain a separate praying facility(Thodar-vazhi-pattu-koodam) with an eternal lamp lit. They chant their daily prayer which Ayya has taught 'Ayya Siva Siva Arakara Arakara'.

Feeding house

Anbuvanam also maintains a feeding house which feeds free food to the poor and needy. It is said that anna-dhanam (free food for the needy) is the topmost dharma one can perform in this world and one who performs anna-dhanam is placed with the devas. Everyday, more than 200 people are being fed here.

About the founder

Balaprajapathi Adikalar being a family man with wife and children, founded the Anbuvanam. Ayya Vaikuntar says that leading a sanyasi life is no better than leading a holy family life. Ayya Vaikuntar Himself was leading a family live to set this example.

The fame of Anbuvanam has spread all over India and is even spreading to other countries such as USA, Japan and Germany. Balaprajapathi is also publishing a monthly magazine named 'Anbu-Murasu' to spread Ayya Vaikuntar's religion and teachings. Many eminent personalities have visited Anbuvanam.

Anbuvanam is maintained by charity. Despite much financial hardship, Balaprajapathi Adikalar keeps the Anbuvanam running. If you would also like to participate in this good cause, please contact or send your contributions to:
