Books by Ayya Vaikuntar

Ayya Vaikuntar authored two books, both on palm leaves which was the available media in those days. Every year, during festival times and other important celebrations, these books are read rhythmically in every pathis (temples) and Nizhal-Thangals by devotees offering detailed explanation. These are currently available as printed books in Tamil only.

Arul Nool

Arul-Nool

Arul-Nool was written by Ayya Himself with the assistance of His disciples in Swamithoppu. The Arul-Nool contains details about Ayya-Vazhi and how to worship God. It also contains details about the dawn of His incarnation, the reforms, history, teachings and prophecies. This book contains the daily chores of worshipping God. The different prophecies mentioned in this book may be also more interesting to the devotees. Several prophecies forecasted by Ayya Vaikuntar are currently happening exactly as He foretold.

Akilathirattu

Akilathirattu was written by His devotee Arigopalan (Hari Gopalan) through automatic writing after Ayya left for Vaikunta. The Akilathirattu is another great scripture depicting all the pastimes that were performed by Sriman Narayana. It contains a summary of all the main avatars and also instructions for the people about how to lead a spiritual life.

This book also contains additional information which is not found in the Srimad Bhagavatam we currently have. It may be appropriate to note here that the Srimad Bhagavatam we have from Sukadev, actually came from Lord Brahma to Narada and then through the disciplic succession. It is said that from the original Bhagavatam presented by Lord Narayana, Lord Brahma instructed only about 10 percent to His son Narada which then came through Vyasa and then to his son Sukadev.

For those who know the vedic scriptures, Ayya Vaikuntar's books will be thrilling to find that the high divine knowledge found in Vedas are also in these books. So far, no attempt has been made to translate these divine books to other languages such as English.
